On Friday Alisha and Preston headed over to Mike and Aubree’s house to hang out for the day. I met them over there after work to chill and grab dinner with them. Apparently Kaitlyn loved Preston. It was cute!

We had a great time hanging out with Mike, Aubree, Kaitlyn, and Jessika out in Canton. Another start to a great weekend!
Well, Thursday night it snowed and left a some sporadic ice throughout the Metro Atlanta area. For the most part it was okay to drive on but some parts on suburban roads, were more difficult to travel especially as you got further North.
We had a Dr. appt Friday (more on that on a future post
) and saw that the roads were pretty safe to travel on. There was certainly some ice but it was not the blizzard that the weathermen were calling for LOL.
In the evening we headed over to Mike and Aubree’s house. We decided to take the risk and head out towards them. The drive was quite fine until about the last 3 miles. It was damn near solid ice. We just took our time and made it there safely. We hung out with the Sassos for a while before deciding on KFC for dinner. Damn. I have not had that in forever! It was pretty good but foods as an adult are not what they were when you were a child
. We had a quick dinner and then sat down to watch some basketball, The Final Destination (TERRIBLE MOVIE!!!), and then just hung out.
We headed home at about 11:30 or so and took our time. It never made it above freezing all day so all of the ice was still there. We made it home in about 45 minutes or so instead of the normal 30 minutes. As always it was a good night with good friends!

Yesterday we had a few visitors over to the house to check in on us and to see our little Preston. Bobby came by in the early afternoon to hang out for a bit. He brought Alisha a very thoughtful gift and stuck around for a bit just to catch up. With us having Preston and him being busy at work we have not had much time to catch up. He had to head out before long but it was great to see him for a bit.

Mike and Aubree had planned to come by last night as well and bring us some dinner (thanks guys!!!). Aubree and Kaitlyn came by earlier and then Mike came straight from work. We had La Cazuela which Mike picked up on his way home and watched some Intervention for a bit. I LOOOVE that show BTW… I am addicted to drug addicts LOL. Baby Kaitlyn was SOO cute when she saw Preston for the first time. She started smiling and going nuts when she was next to him. It was sooo cute!

It is crazy how big she has gotten in the 7 months she has been around. I cant believe little Preston is going to grow so big so fast!

Man in two of these pics, the guys on TV look like they are looking at Alisha, Aubree, Kaitlyn, and Preston LOL – kinda creepy!
On Friday night we had a chill night and just headed over to Mike and Aubree’s house to hang out. We grabbed subs on the way over and just chilled. Talked, watched tv, played around with Baby Kaits, and relaxed.
Great way to wind down the week.
Dont forget to check out our photo gallery for pictures of the Gwinett Gladiators home opener here
We had a full plan for Saturday which slowly seemed to slip away. In the morning we headed over to my rents to give them our opinion about picking out tile for their master bathroom. It is currently carpet (i know it makes no sense, but that is what the builder did when the house was built) and they really want to do all tile. We went to Lowes, Home Depot, and finally Coastal Flooring to pick out what time we think will look the best in the house. They still have some decisions to make, but I think that they are making progress.
After looking at tiles, we headed over to IHOP at John’s Creek to meet Mike and Aubree for breakfast. Mike was in the area to help his parents as well and to hopefully sell his RX7 that he had on Craigslist. Let me just say once again that I love IHOP! Those pancakes are just unreal. mmmmm! After breakfast we realized that the rest of our day just was not going to happen. It was quite cold and it was just raining and raining all morning which would have made Burts farm a total waste of time. We were supposed to go with Andrea and Ryan to spend the afternoon with them and the kids and they agreed that it was just not worth it. We then gave Bobby a call. He was supposed to go to the Gwinnett Gladiators (local minor league hockey team) home opener that night. We asked him if he minded if we tagged along and he was more than happy to have us.
Mike and I watched the UGA game at the house (finally a win!) while the girls organized and went through Preston’s nursery. We then picked Bobby up and headed to the box office to pick up tickets. Because it is a minor league team, tickets are much cheaper and much more available. We walked up there 2 hours before the gates opened and picked up 5 tickets all together 1 row behind the glass behind the Gladiators team bench. It was awesome… and the best part – 18 bucks a piece!!
We then headed out to dinner at Arena Tavern up the road. The food and service were both just mediocre but it was food I guess.

After dinner we headed to the game. We had a great time. We had awesome seats, great people, and great people to laugh at. We had an old smelly guy in front of us for a while followed by his daughter which we didn’t find out until we mentioned that there was an old dude sitting there before LOL.. whooops
ohhwell.. it is what it is. Bobby and I took an immediate liking to the trash talking, big mouthed player named Tom Zanowski. He was always antagonizing and threatening people on the ice… heck that is what we are there for! We want to see fights and trash talking…. and we got what we asked for. It was a great game and the Gladiators walked away with a 3-1 victory!
It was a great day even if we didnt do what we had originally planned. Its okay though…we just pushed that back to Sunday which was expected to be a nicer day out.
Dont forget to check out our photo gallery for pictures of the Stone Mountain Laser Show at pictures.neilnatic.com or here.

Us minus Phil at Stone Mountain
Last Saturday afternoon we headed from Andrea and Ryan’s house over to Stone Mountain to meet Aubree, Mike, Krystle, and Phil for some food and the laser show. We stopped by Publix on the way and continued over to grab a spot on the lawn. Soon after everyone else showed up. We ate a nice sub dinner and got ready for the laser show to start. I had spent a ton of time playing with our camera to get it to grab pictures of the laser show. The lighting for the show is very poor (for a camera) so it was tricky getting the right ISO, aperture, and most importantly shutter speed setting. You had to leave the shutter open longer to catch the light but beware of creating blurry images due to you holding the camera in your unsteady hands. Taking pictures in auto came back with absolutely black images.

Spooning at Stone Mountain
I had not been to the laser show in years but as always it was a great show. Afterwards we spent time just talking and having a great time. Before leaving we had noticed that one couple had been underneath the covers for a little longer than you would expect. After a little bit of staring at them, we quickly found out that they were having sex in the middle of Stone Mountain!!! Really?!?! You could not take that to the house..especially since there are so many people around including many children? People never cease to amaze me.
Last Friday we headed over to Alisha’s parents house to eat dinner and have dessert for Tiffany’s birthday. We chilled out there for a while before heading over to Cinco’s to celebrate Ashley’s birthday. We met up at Cincos with about 25 other people to enjoy the night. They had a DJ and all of our friends which led to a great time.
Happy birthday Tiff and Ash!

Alisha and I at Buford Dam
On Monday we got together with Mike, Aubree, and Kaitlyn to head up to Buford Dam to cook out and enjoy the day. It was excellent. I typically get antsy when I spend so much time with nothing in mind to do other than chill, but let me tell you it was EXCELLENT!

Mike and I looking like a couple
We headed up there in the early afternoon with a cooler full of beer, steaks, chips, and subs. The steaks came out flawless. Holy crap they were good!! We did some SERIOUS people watching, snapping pictures of Kaitlyn, and just relaxed. It was awesome. Unfortunately Mike and I both wore our Terrapin shirts to the Dam and Alisha was sure to make fun of us for looking like a gay couple. Thanks babe!! LOL! Mike was planning to jump into the lake while we were there but since we went to the other side of the dam (the side that they release water from the bottom of the lake downstream) the water was FREEZING. No swimming for us! The park cops said that the water was about 43 degrees!!! You literally could not stand in the water for more than like 30 seconds or your feet would go completely numb.
Be sure to check out the pictures – we have plenty this time with some people watching involved you will enjoy.
Friday night was a big night for everyone. We celebrated Spence’s birthday by enjoying some dinner and then headed downtown to celebrate Grant’s upcoming wedding.
Spencer had originally wanted to go to a new bar in the Cumming area but unfortunately they did not get their liquor license in time to be open for the weekend. Because of this, Spence decided to move the party to Taco Mac – you wont hear me complain! Alisha was a little less thrilled but came out to spend time with good friends. We had a nice sized group of almost 20 and had a great time just BS’ing and eating / drinking. We didnt have the best service (okay maybe the worst ever) but we made the best of it!
After dinner, the guys headed downtown to spend time in Buckhead, the Highlands, and then back to Buckhead. We started out in a bar that turned out to be the visiting football team’s bar of choice. We had to get the HELL out of there! We headed out to the highlands and had a few drinks at a few bars there before heading over towards East Andrews in Buckhead. They still wanted a cover charge even though they were closing in about 30 minutes, so we decided to head out of there. On the way home we grabbed food at IHOP before making it to the house. It was a long night of fun and we made it back to the house at about 2:30 or so.
On Friday night we headed up to Mike and Aubree’s house to spend the evening with them and Krystle and Phil. We planned to cook out so we picked up some steak and mashed potatoes on the way and got ready for a chill night. We had a hell of a dinner!

Krystle Feeling Preston Kick
We spent the evening talking, relaxing, and playing some board games (which the guys won yet AGAIN!!!). While we were hanging out a storm came into the area and was pretty rough! There was insane lightning and thunder and one strike was pretty darn close. It scared the crap out of the girls LOL. This is Max after that one strike. He was a little uneasy LOL.

Max a bit Scared
After the storms settled down we headed home at about 11:00 or so.
On Saturday morning we woke up and headed over to IHOP in between exits 7 and 8 to grab breakfast with Mike, Aubree, and Kaitlyn. After stuffing my fat face with far too many pancakes, hashbrowns, eggs, and bacon we headed up to see Mike’s dad. It was great to see him doing so well. As you may know, they are like family to me… hell, they were a second family for about 6 years of my life and I owe them lots for everything they did for me during that time and it continues all the way until now. They are some of the most geniune and sweetest people you will ever meet and I am glad to see them all doing so much better.
After hanging out for several hours, Mike and Bree headed up to her parents house and we headed home to spend time with Envy before going out for the evening. After spending a few hours with Envy and watching a bit of the Atlanta / Detroit preseason game, Dan came over and we headed off to Ashley and Kevin’s house for the night to celebrate Grant and Allyson’s upcoming wedding in Florida. Alisha was invited to Allyson’s bridal shower while the guys chilled downstairs until it was over. We had a great time. I spent a lot of time hanging out with Allyson’s and Grant’s dad talking about everything from sports to beer to sex. We really had an excellent time! They were a riot! Allyson, I love your dad… he was a ton of fun. I have known Grant’s dad for Y-E-A-R-S now so catching up with him was equally great.
We spent the evening hanging out with many of our friends. It was a great time and we were glad to be a part of it. Unfortuantely, I did not grab any pictures as I was just chilling and when I did shoot some, I was using Amber’s camera.
Thanks for having us Grant and Allyson!
On Friday Aubree was out shopping with Alisha… surprise, surprise. They went out taking advantage of the tax free holiday as well as the sales to purchase baby clothes. Alisha decided it would be great idea to purchase clothes for a boy AND a girl…. I didn’t quite see the same logic LOL
After dropping Ryan off, we headed to Mike and Aubree’s house to spend the evening over there. We bought some stuff to grill out and just chilled. Abe jr is in town so Mike, Abe, and I headed off to play tennis for a few hours before heading back to the house to chill with the ladies.
It was great to see Abe again. He looks great as he has lost some weight. As always, we had a great time with the Sassos! Kaitlyn is getting SO big already! She is so cute!
Saturday morning we woke up, got ready and headed out to Roswell for Matt and Laura’s big day!!!!

Matt and Laura got married in Roswell at Founder’s Hall on Saturday afternoon. It was a gorgeous wedding with their friends and family there to celebrate! A few of our friends were in the wedding party and many others in attendance. It was a great wedding. We are so happy for them and wish them a lifetime of happiness together.

NO - She was not really drinking them LOL
Congrats guys!!!
note: unfortunately we did not get to take many pictures. We allowed family to be closest to them for their big day and were further away from most of the action. If they post pics from their photographers I will edit this post and link back to them.
Now that Aubree has sent out her baby announcements, I will post the picture that I made up for her.
Aubree and Alisha took the shots of Kaitlyn and I just did the effect that you see below. I used a black and white version of the photo and added back the color pink in the photo using Photoshop (its actually done in reverse… color photo, black and white mask on top of it, and remove the black and white mask where the colors you want are).

Adorable

Dont do this to me!!
On Friday night we headed over to Mike and Aubree’s house to hang out and start the weekend. We got there around 6:00 and brought over some corn, steak, mashed potatoes, and rolls. We decided to grill out and then relax for the evening.
Since we were all pretty darn hungry we began cooking as soon as we got there. My steak came out flawless! It was sooo tasty! I had a New York Strip and when I got down to the bone, I was a little upset. I decided to throw all my dignity and my manners to the side and just gnawed on that bone until I got every bit of meat possible. (Check out the pictures on Mike and Aubree’s blog here ).

Kaitlyn - not happy!
After eating dinner and having some dessert, Mike and I decided to go play some tennis while the girls bathed Kaitlyn. I had been dying to play tennis for quite some time and was quite worried that I would be absolutely horrendous. We BS’ed around for a bit just kinda hitting and then decided to play a serious game of tennis. It was a great match! I won the first set, he won the second. I won the third and fourth. He then came back and won the fifth and sixth. This type of battle continued all the way to the end. We were “forced” to end the match in a 6-6 double duece… we both had to get the hell off of the court and take a duece before we didn’t make it home in time. LOL. We had a great time playing tennis. It felt great to play again and I really want to do so often. While we were playing, I heard a huge thud as something hit the court. I looked behind me and saw this HUUUGE bug on the ground. Mike had to see this thing so I scooped it up onto my racquet, tossed it in the air, and nailed it over to Mike’s side of the court. He could not believe it!

A HUUGE bug!
After we got back from tennis we took showers and then came back downstairs. Somehow the ladies talked us into playing a game called Sequence. The girls won the first game and then the second. We then won the third. Then we found out that after the first game (which they say they won legit) they pulled out all of the jacks out of the deck which are the key to the whole game. Freaking cheaters!!! The worst part for them is that we won the third game while they had all of the wilds in their hands…. what losers! After playing Sequence, we played a quick game of Sorry. Mike won this one (a come from behind win) and we decided to call it a night.
We left their house at about 1:00 or so and headed back home. It was a great night and we had a really good time just chilling.
